Planning Your Stay

Situated in the heart of Dorset, with easy access to all of the top sights and attractions, Minterne Magna is the perfect place to stay. The historic country house was built in the early 1900s – an authentic reconstruction of the original seventeenth-century property, carrying forward many of the traditional features of the former building. The house has been in the Digby family since Admiral Robert Digby purchased the home in 1768. It was previously occupied by Winchester College, John Churchill (father of the first Sir Winston Churchill), and General Charles Churchill.

Today, Minterne House is the family home of Lord Henry Digby, who is opening up three beautiful accommodations to those wanting to explore the estate and experience local history.

The twoproperties – Minterne Parva Farm House and Manor Farmhouse – can be let individually, or as a group for up to 20 guests plus children. They each feature smart TVs and DVD players, comfortable beds, hypo-allergenic linens and fully equipped kitchens, along with WiFi and private WC facilities.

When Lord Digby is in residence, guests are welcome to join a complimentary tour of the house and learn about the History.

Testimonials

“We would like you to know how much the family enjoyed their stay at Churchill House.

The house was lovely, and we appreciated the attention to detail in the house such as the welcome pack on arrival and the extensive and varied reading material.

The garden was a big hit with the children and the dogs.

The availability of the pool and tennis court were a big draw for the children who couldn’t quite believe how lucky they were.

We also found Minterne gardens to be very special with the wicker fairies, dragons, goblins, and unicorns creating a magical feel.”
