Minterne Gardens will be open from 1st February

Gardens at Minterne: Swathes of snowdrops

Whatever the season, the gardens at Minterne House always provide visitors with an impressive show, and this month is no exception; it is time for the snowdrop to take centre stage. Small yet perfectly formed and utterly compelling, this delicate white flower brings a feeling of hope to what lies ahead; a sign that spring is on its way.

Over the last month we have watched as their spritely green shoots have emerged from the soil in our woodland garden, holding our breath and waiting for their icy white bonnets to adorn the grounds. The wait is over! As we wrap up warm against the cold, we revel in the swathes of snowdrops throughout our garden trail and wonder at their strength and beauty.

Our impressive display of snowdrops at Minterne Gardens is open to visitors to enjoy with four-legged friends welcome on leads. With benches dotted throughout the trail, take time to relax and breathe in the spectacular beauty provided by nature. With complimentary entry to our gardens until the end of February 2021, grab your winter warmers and prepared to have your heart and soul warmed by the garden views.

Albert Camus wrote “in the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer”; perhaps the delicate white bonnet of the snowdrop can be a reminder to us all that the summer in summer is never far away from us.
