The History of Minterne
Minterne is the birthplace of The Duke of Marlborough and cradle of the Churchill Dynasty. It is the home of Admiral Henry Digby, Captain of HMS Africa at the Battle of Trafalgar and now home to one of his ancestors, The Hon Henry Digby, his wife Sophie & their young family.
A large historical collection of ancestral artefacts relating to the Churchill and Digby families is held within the house. Tours can be arranged of both house and the historical gardens with the present Lord Digby, providing a fascinating insight into the 1000 year history of these influential families.
